Terms of Service

Welcome to Say So. Say So is a self-talk practice app operated by Sandeep Caberwal, an individual doing business as "Say So" ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Say So mobile application and any related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who Can Use Say So

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By allowing a minor to use the Service, the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms and accepts responsibility for the minor's use of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate any account we reasonably believe belongs to someone under 13.

2. What Say So Is (and Isn't)

Say So helps you practice positive self-talk using a structured daily exercise called RAYS (Recognize, Address yourself by name, treat Yourself like a friend, Stick with it). You log short entries, build streaks, track progress, and can earn a reward for completing a 30-day program.

Say So is an early-stage, proof-of-concept product. Features may change, break, be added, or be removed at any time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time without liability to you. We recommend you do not rely on the Service as your only record of anything important to you.

3. Not Medical or Mental Health Care

Say So is a wellness and self-improvement tool. It is not medical care, mental health treatment, therapy, counseling, or a substitute for any of those. We are not healthcare providers, and nothing in the Service — including exercises, prompts, notifications, stats, or any other content — is medical or psychological advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

If you are struggling with your mental health, please talk to a parent, guardian, doctor, therapist, school counselor, or another trusted adult. If you are in the United States and are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911 in an emergency. Do not use the Service to seek help in an emergency.

4. Your Account

To use the Service you must create an account with accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at hello@saysoapp.org if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You may not share your account, impersonate anyone, or create an account for someone else without authorization.

5. Your Content

The entries you create in Say So — your self-talk logs, reframes, notes, and any other content you submit ("Your Content") — belong to you. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service for you (for example, syncing your entries across the app, calculating your streaks and stats, and backing up your data). We do not sell Your Content and we do not use it for advertising.

You are responsible for Your Content. Don't submit content that is unlawful, infringes anyone's rights, or contains someone else's personal information without their permission.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to access another user's account or data; (c) probe, scan, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or its security; (d) use bots, scripts, or automated means to access the Service or manipulate streaks, entries, or rewards; (e) misrepresent your age or identity; or (f) resell or commercially exploit the Service.

7. Rewards Program

Say So includes a rewards program in which users who complete the 30-day program requirements (as described in the app, including the daily entry goal and streak rules, with one permitted streak freeze) may earn a physical prize selected at onboarding. The following terms apply:

  • Eligibility. One (1) prize per person, per completed 30-day program, unless we state otherwise in the app. We may require verification that program requirements were genuinely completed.
  • Genuine participation required. Prizes are earned by actually doing the practice. Your entries must be real, made in good faith, and responsive to the daily RAYS exercises. Entries that consist of gibberish, filler, repeated or copy-pasted text, irrelevant content, or automated or scripted input do not count toward the daily goal or the 30-day program. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to withhold, deny, or revoke any gift or prize from anyone we reasonably believe is attempting to game the system — including by falsifying entries, manipulating streaks, backdating activity, creating multiple accounts, or otherwise completing the program without genuinely engaging with the practice. Our determination on genuine participation is final.
  • Fulfillment. Prizes ship to addresses within the United States only. You (or your parent/guardian, if you are under 18) must provide a valid shipping address to receive a prize.
  • Substitution. Prize selections are subject to availability. We may substitute a prize of equal or greater value at our discretion.
  • No cash value. Prizes are not redeemable for cash and are not transferable.
  • Changes. Because the Service is a proof of concept, we may modify or discontinue the rewards program prospectively at any time; changes will not revoke prizes already earned under the rules in effect when you earned them.

Completing the program requires effort, not chance. The rewards program is not a lottery, sweepstakes, or game of chance.

8. Fees

The Service is currently free during our test period. We may introduce fees in the future; if we do, we will tell you in advance and you will have the choice not to continue.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service — including the Say So name, the RAYS framework content, app design, text, graphics, and software — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and Apple's App Store terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, Supabase for authentication, data storage, and related infrastructure, and shipping carriers for prize delivery). We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

If you use your device's keyboard dictation feature to enter text, that dictation is provided and processed by your device's operating system provider (e.g., Apple), not by us.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, if we reasonably believe your use creates risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3, 5, 9, 12, 13, and 14) will survive.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR OUTCOME OR IMPROVEMENT IN YOUR WELLBEING. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIABILITY LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

14. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you (or your parent/guardian, if you are a minor) agree to indemnify us against claims, damages, and reasonable expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

15. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for the app, its content, or any claims relating to it (including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government restricted-party list.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at saysoapp.org and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing in this section prevents either party from bringing a qualifying claim in small claims court.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept them.
